Fun with BaChan on the new Swingset

I just love my Grandma. She comes over every Thursday to hang out with me and the kids. She usually either makes lunch or buys lunch for us too. All three of them love BaChan's stew. I love spending time with her, and so do the kids. She loves playing with Makee and holding the babies. This last Thursday we spent some time outside on Makee's new swing set we inherited from my cousins, Aaron and Cassi. Mak loves it. We've already had quite a few picnics in his "clubhouse."Mak, BaChan, and Bai

About Us--Daniel, Lyndsie, Makai, Bailee and Rylin

Welcome to our blog! We love to keep in touch with friends and family through blogging. Daniel and I were married in May of 2003. In September 2007, Makai joined our family. He makes us laugh every day. In June 2009, our twin girls Bailee and Rylin were born. They are so sweet and so much fun. Daniel is currently working at a lab in the molecular oncology department. I get to stay home with my three kiddies. There's no other way to describe our lives but chaos. But we sure love our little family!

The Mak Attack's Yackity Yacks

May 2010-
*Me and Mak were making cookies and singing songs. I started singing opera style like the dork that I am. When I was finished, Mak said, "Good job, Mommy!"

*See ya ater, coccodile!

*Mommy, grasshopper poop!

*The girls were crying in the car. I asked Mak to give Ry her bottle. When she pushed it away he said, "No! Just dink it!"

*Beh-yee Poo is in Kasas faw way

*Fuh-Bob (SpongeBob)

*"Mommy, watch this!" to absolutely everything

*Mommy, I miss Gerbil

April 2010-
*I overheard Makee singing this to himself the other day while shaking his little bootie: "Shake-a-bon-bon, WHOA!" So hilarious. Of course I couldn't get him to repeat it.

*Today I opened the door and he said, "Shut da doe, bofend!" (Shut the door Boyfriend). Since then, I have also gotten, "Shut da doe, Cowboy!"

*Mickey "House" and Donald "Quack"

Bailee 9 1/2 Months (April 2010)

*May 2010 (10 1/2 months)--Bai has turned into the littlest copycat. Any sound anyone makes she tries to mimick. She is really good at coughing.
*Bai says "Dada" all the time. I'm not convinced it's on purpose, but Dan is. And every time I try to teach her "Mama" she comes back with "Dada"
*9 Month Appointment: 17 lbs. 3 oz. (25th), 28 inches long (70th)
*She's gotten so good at waving! She just flaps her little hand like crazy.
*Not quite crawling. Not often scooting. She is a Master roller. And that is just as effective in getting her where she wants.
*Bai has started pushing her bumper down in her crib so she can see out. She doesn't want to miss out on any of the fun.
*Bailee is truly just happy as long as she is with someone to keep her company.
*Lately when she gets stressed, Bai throws her head back and just lets out the most pitiful cry I've ever heard, all while never taking her eyes off me!
*Bailee is a little more picky than her sister. She doesn't like everything, but she eats enough.
*She's got one of her top teeth! That makes three total (two on bottom)
*Oh, what a sweet and squishy little girl.

Rylin 9 1/2 Months (April 2010)

May 2010 (10 1/2 months)--RyRy can pull herself up to standing using furniture! Oh boy.
*Right now Ry does this most hilarious little fake laugh with everything. She thinks everyone is so funny.
*9 Month Appointment--17 lbs. 11 oz. (25th), 28 1/2 inches (70th)
*She sometimes does what looks like an army crawl. And sometimes it looks more like a little seal flapping her arms along and pulling her legs behind.
*So giggly! It doesn't take much to hear her little laugh.
*There's no food this little girl will refuse. She sometimes eats until she's sick.
*Ry is a Dancing Queen. Anytime she hears music, she starts bobbing.
*When she gets really excited, she sits and beats her belly. It is hilarious.
*Oh, she is the busiest body! She scoots herself over to anywhere she wants to be and gets into EVERYTHING. She's started making her brother and sister very mad when she takes what they've got!
*Rylin is such a happy girl. She is so easy to please. She is so so fun.

Makee Moments--January 2010

FEBRUARY 2010
*When Makee has been doing something kind of naughty, he tries to distract me by saying, "Mom? I Yuh, yuh, yuh you!" How can I get mad at that?
*Makee has been telling us lately when he has to go potty! He says, "Big poop comin!" and after he goes, he says, "I fush Poop!"
*Usually when we ask Mak if he has pooped, he says, "I not poop, I FOT!"

JANUARY
*Mak's been into chocolate milk lately. Today while I was feeding the girls he said, "Mom, babies chocut gunk?"
*Silly="Sinny," Goofy="Goosy"
*Makee bit off the tail of a goldfish cracker and said, "Fish bum hurt!"
*Every day Mak insists on wearing "Matches" instead of regular clothes. But even better than jammies, he prefers to be "Nake."
*Dan was giving himself a haircut and I asked if we should cut Makee's hair too. The response: "Uh day doo. Uh nice hy." Translation: "No thank you. I have nice hair!"
*First thing I hear in the morning, "MOM! Heh-YO!"
*Whenever Makee says good-bye to something he says, "See ya." When he left the computer the other night he said, "Seesa, Pooter."
*Makee has been wrapping up his bear and bunny in a blanket and carrying them around like babies. So sweet!

Our Funny Little Mak Attack

December 2009
*Here is my favorite thing Makee says right now: "Mom? (pause) Yuh You!" Melts my heart every time.
*Dan went in to get Makee from his nap and he found that he had taken both socks off his feet, put them on his hands, and was using them as hand puppets. He was saying "Quack-cack!" to his bunny.
*Latest favorite: "Matches" (which are jammies). He unzips the tops of his matches, and shoves his bunny in the hole with its head sticking out. Bunny will sit sticking out of the matches all day. And this kid loves to be comfy. He hates wearing jeans.
*I find Mak walking around the house singing, "Wish, Kiss," (I Wanna Wish you a Merry Christmas).
*The conversation about the Christmas tree "No touch--Uh Yook." (Don't touch-just look).
*He used to say, "Santa Seh-ey" (Santa scary). But now he knows the big guy brings him presents. So he always says, "Santa pesents"
*Here's a little game me and Mak play back and forth: I say, "I'm funny." And he says, "I funny!" Back and forth.
*Mak had STILL not fallen asleep by 11:30 last night. I went in there and he was standing up, holding both of his bunnies, and he looked at me and said, "Uh Pay!" (I wanna play!) What the heck!
*Makee really misses my brother Jared who is on a mission. He calls him YoYo. He always says, "I miss YoYo." It breaks my heart, but it is so sweet!
*Makee got a bulldozer from Dan's parents that moves on its own when you push a button. He loves to push the button and then he runs away and squeals when it chases him.
*He is the sweetest brother ever. When his sisters are crying he goes over to them and says, "Don't cwy!" And he'll kiss the top of their little heads. And then he puts their binkies in.
*When Mak is being silly, I say, "You're Goofy!" And he says, "I GOOSY!" When I tell him, "You're Squishy!" He says, "I Fishy!"
*Mak went poop in the potty for the first time! When he went, he said, "I did it!" And threw both fists in the air declaring victory
*Makee got a hermit crab from his Uncle Matt for Christmas. He is so crazy, he escaped from his cage and crawled into Makee's closet one night. We're keeping a close watch on him now! But he sure stinks up Mak's room. Every morning Makee says, "Cap Sinky!"

An Obsession with Toy Story

Mak watches Toy Story about twice a day right now. He's obsessed with it. We're planning his birthday party, and I was showing him pictures of Toy Story cakes online. As he was looking at them, he said, "So-Soy, I Yuh you!" Which translates into "Toy Story, I love you!" Boy oh boy.

WHOA! (August 2009)

So, you may have heard the Sean Kingston song that goes, "Somebody call 9-1-1...Shorty's fire-burnin' on the dancefloor, WHOA!" We were listening to it in the car the other day, and we heard this little voice in the backseat singing, "Whoa, whoa, whoa," while bounced his head back and forth. I guess Makee has a new favorite song.

Cheap Entertainment (October 2008)

The other day Mak was crawling around in his diaper. He pulled out a couple wipes and started dancing and whipping them around. He and Isabelle were cracking up at him! After a while, Isabelle thought she would try. She took out a wipe, flung it around for about two seconds, gave a little giggle, and dropped it. Apparently, it wasn't nearly as fun as Makee made it look.

My Milkshake (Oct. 2008)

Makai LOVES dancing. The other day an old episode of SNL came on TV. The girl who sings, "My Milkshake" started to perform. Makee went crazy dancing. When it was over, he clapped with the audience.

My Little Pumpkin

My Little Pumpkin
October 15, 2008 (13 months) I have some styrofoam pumpkins Makee knows he isn't supposed to touch. Today he scooted near the pumpkins, looked right at me, and started shaking his head "no" and waving his hands back and forth--mumbling something the entire time. It's like he was saying, "I know this is a 'no-no!'" So I responded shaking my head. Then he would look at me, scoot a little closer, look at me, and do the same thing. This happened over and over until he finally got close enough to scoop the pumpkin up in his arms! Little stinker. The rules don't apply to him I guess.

We Believe

My Testimony

For a while now, Daniel has encouraged me to put my testimony on our blog. Why I have put it off; there are probably a few reasons. I guess I feel like my testimony is just so simple. But here it is. Hopefully it will inspire someone out there. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. I know it is the only true church on the earth today. Christ is the center of this Gospel. I know that through Joseph Smith, the church was restored so we may have it today. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of everything we go through as individuals. He hears and answers our prayers. I have had my prayers answered time and time again. I feel the love of my Savior surrounding me. I know that if we follow this Gospel and the commandments to the best of our abilities, we will have the greatest blessings in this life and in our life to come. Christ has given us the greatest gift--eternal life and eternal families. I know this is the true church, and I testify of the true and eternal happiness it can bring us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

TAGGED

I was tagged by Teisa, so here goes nothin!

What were you doing 10 years ago?
Ten years ago, I was just getting ready to graduate from that glorious experience called Junior High.
I was so excited to enter the high school scene. Lindsey Cole and I were inseparable. In Junior High, I changed my nail polish nearly every day. I think I had about 75 different colors of nail polish. My friend Nicole bought me a big tub to keep all my nail polish in. I still have all of my nail polish even though it is old and crusty. I can’t bear to get rid of it!

Name 5 things on your to do list:
Organize my craft room
Work on Makai’s scrapbook
Go grocery shopping
Do some MAJOR Spring cleaning
Get rid of clothes I always think I will be able to fit in to one day—It’s not gonna happen!

What are some snacks you like?
Cheese and crackers
Sugar cookies, cake, brownies—anything with frosting!
I have a horrible sweet tooth.

What would you do with a billion dollars?
A billion dollars?
That is a crazy amount of money. I would either give our house an entire overhaul, including a whole new addition and digging out another floor under our basement so there is room to grow, or we would just move. But I really don’t want to move. I love the area we live in.

I think I would also help our families pay off their mortgages. I would set up a college fund for each of my kids. I would want to donate a large amount to people in need. And I would have to go on a major shopping spree. Would there be any money left after that? Well, if there was, I guess I would put the rest in savings.

Name 3 bad habits:
When I am stressed, I get tension headaches, so I roll my neck and close my eyes.
For some reason, I think this helps relieve my headache. Apparently, I do it all the time. My whole family makes fun of me.

I get hooked on reality TV—Right now, I love American Idol (David Archuletta lives in our neighborhood!), the Bachelor, Here Come the Newlyweds (which just ended), and Oprah’s Big Give. That is the best show!

Now that I am obsessed with blogging, I have to check the internet at least four times a day. I love to update the blog, change things, and check for comments. I love when people leave comments! Sometimes, I can’t sleep at night because I am thinking about blogging. I am hoping this addiction will taper off.

Name 6 places that you have lived:
I have only lived in Salt Lake

What jobs have you had in order:
Westgate Resorts
Target
Allstate Insurance
Creekside Home Health Care
Working Rx
Wife
Pleasant Green Elementary
Auto Rx
Mommy

5 things people don't know about you?
I have never colored my hair

I don’t like to cook, but I love to bake. Cookies are my favorites.

I love snorkeling. The underwater world amazes me.

I am not an athletic person. I hope Makai inherits Daniel’s athletic genes, and not mine!

I have absolutely no sense of direction. Actually, I think most people know this about me. I have to have written directions pretty much everywhere I go. When I started 7th grade, I wrote out exact directions of how to get to each class—such as “Turn left, take about 20 steps, then turn right.” I know this sounds pathetic, but it’s true. Sometimes if I have to drive somewhere by myself for the first time, Daniel will take me for a “dry run” so I can find it. He will also write out exact directions for me. Isn’t he good to me?

Now I am going to tag…………………Nicolie, Heather, and Tiffany. Have Fun!
