Our Sweet Little Girls

I am very behind on my blogging, but I haven't seemed to have any time lately. Here are a few pics of the girls we took when they were about 3 1/2 months old:

Oh, these little girls are so squishy! They are getting so chunky. Their little personalities are really starting to come out, and it's so fun to watch. Bailee is so talkative. She chatters all the time. She just stares at us and has full on conversations with us. And she is so happy. All you have to do is look at her and she gives you a huge grin. RyRy is also such a happy girl. She is a bit more dramatic, though. If you put her down, she gives you the saddest look I've ever seen with the hugest frown. It's so sad! But it's kind of funny too. She gets so excited about things. If she's happy, she just squeals with delight. We love our sweet little girls!

Good-Bye, Rocket

High school is a funny time. You spend three short years making friends and memories you think about for the rest of your life. Today I learned of the passing of one of my good friends from high school, Rocky Berrichoa. He was better known to me as Rocket, or Foxy Roxy. I was better known to him as Lyns-Bum. Rocky and I didn't keep in touch much after high school, although I have thought about him often. Just recently, we reconnected through Facebook. I was so sad to hear of the loss of such an incredible person. Rocket was one of the sweetest guys I knew. He was kind, gentle, thoughtful, and so much fun. I have so many memories with him--Hanging out at each other's houses and other friends' houses, going to Woody's and Target, making him a rocket birthday cake, and picking him up and driving around in my mini van, just to name a few. But mostly I remember the countless hours we spent hanging out at my house--either in a big group, or just me and him. As I can't sleep tonight, I've been going through old yearbooks and pictures, and it brings back floods of great memories of a time with Rocky and great friends. Sometimes I wish I could go back to those days. Rocket, I always had a soft place in my heart for you, and I always will. Thanks for the memories. I love you, and I will always remember you. Picture Overload

Bailee in brown and Rylin in pink
I've been a little snap happy lately. Dan and I were talking about how we don't take nearly as many pictures of the girls as we did when Makee was a baby. So I've been trying to take a lot more. These have been taken in the last month or so.
Mmmm...Ice Cream!
Bailee and Buzz--We always go up to the girls' room and see little toys placed on top of them that their big brother shares with them. These other pictures are of the girls sleeping with their arms locked together. It was so sweet! Bailee is on the bottom and Rylin is on top.

The Girls' Baby Blessing

Dan holding Bailee, Me holding Rylin
We blessed our baby girls last Sunday, October 11. They looked like the most beautiful little angels I have ever seen. Every day we fall in love more and more with these sweet little girls. Daniel gave each of his daughters special blessings unique to each one, and he did such a wonderful job. He always listens so closely to the spirit when he gives blessings, and I really admire that about him. He is a great Daddy. Lani made their blessing dresses and shoes. She put a little pink ribbon through Bailee's dress and a light purple one in Rylin's. She made most of the dresses out of my wedding dress, so I hope one day Bailee and Rylin will cherish their dresses their grandma made them. Thank you Nani! They are beautiful. After the blessing we had a dinner over at my parents' house. Dan made the most delicious tacos. Everyone loved them! I know it was really stressful for my parents to have the party at their house because Whit had had Burton that morning, so thanks Mom and Dad for everything! Thanks to all of our helpers with the food! And thank you to all the family and friends who came to show us their love and support to our precious girls. We love you all! Burton Peter Klc--Our Newest Nephew

Whit and Pete (more Whit than Pete) had their baby boy on Sunday morning. He was born at about 8:25 in the morning. Burty was 7 lbs. 11 oz. and 21 1/2 inches long. He sure is a handsome little guy with a ton of curly hair! He has the highest pitched scream I've ever heard. It is so funny. Dan is calling him the pterodactyl. Congrats Whit and Pete and new Big Sister Belly! He is adorable. We love you and are so happy Burt is here safe and sound.

Makee's Birthday Celebrations

Makai definitely had a great 2nd birthday with some fun celebrations. He had his birthday party with the family last Sunday, and it was a blast! We had delicious chicken sandwiches made by Dan, and a Toy Story cake that Dan and I made together. We debated all day long whether or not to do the party outside because of the rain, but by the time everyone got there, it was pretty nice and everyone gravitated outside. It was so nice to be outside. It was Toy Story themed party, of course, and boy, did he get a lot of fun presents. He got Toy Story 2, Toy Story pajamas, a T-shirt, magnetic story board, and my parents gave him giant Woody and Buzz action figures that are exactly like the ones in the movie! They talk and everything. He loves them. Besides the Toy Story stuff, he also got a ton of other great gifts. Makee had a great time. We sure missed Uncle YoYo, Chris, Jenna, and Drake who are away from us right now! And we also missed Aunt Heather who was home with sick baby Kai. Thanks to everyone for coming to Mak's party! He is sure loved, and such a lucky boy.
This was one of Makee's favorite presents. His Uncle Chris made it for him, and he pushes all the time going "Cack cack!" Mak wore his favorite Jazz jersey that Uncle J gave him for his birthday before he left on his mission Presents! Mak had 3 big helpers with the gift opening Here is the cake we made. The bed posts are made out of gum paste. They lasted for a picture and pretty much fell over after that. But Makee was so excited about his "So-Soy" Cake. The birthday boy and his birthday cake! Here is the Birthday Boy With:

We sure love our little 2 year old!
So that was the birthday party. But Mak's actual birthday was a really fun day too. Dan took the day off of work, so we started the day off going to the zoo. Mak is really into animals right now, so he loved it--especially looking at the baby giraffe. He did not, however, like the carousel. He cried the whole time!
We also went to the Bird Show at the zoo. It was really cool, but a little long for the attention span of a two year old. In the middle of the show, I tried to escape with him. One of the zoo workers ran over and yelled, "Find a seat!" and soon there was a flock of birds flying right over our heads. Phew!" I don't think we'll be doing the bird show again. Of course we had to do Makee's favorite part of the trip--the Choo Choo. He had a lot of fun with Daddy. After we got home from the zoo the birthday boy opened his presents. Boy did he love rippin' into them! He got a slinky dog like the one on Toy Story, a Toy Story coloring book, some cool shoes, jammies, and CD player/karaoke machine. He loves the karaoke! It has this echo button, and he loves to hear his little voice on it. Dan also made him a CD to go along with it with some of his favorite songs including Sean Kingston's "9-1-1," the song B-I-N-G-O, Jason Mraz' "I'm Yours," and the Toy Story theme song, just to name a few. He sort of sings along, but mostly he just loves to say, "YoYo!, Mama! Dada!" into the microphone. Makee with his sisters! (Rylin is the one crying)Later that night, Nani and Pappy came over to watch Bailee and Rylin so we could take Makee out. We took him to McDonald's so he could play in the Playplace, which, by the way, is disgusting. He couldn't figure out how to find the top of the slide, so Dan climbed up there with him. Pretty soon I heard Dan's voice going, "Ah, ah!" Thump, thump thump...with a little boy's voice yelling "Aaaaah!" When Dan got down there, he said, "I don't that slide is made for adults." Really? But he said when they got up to the slide there were old bandaids, food, a bunch of disgusting stuff that parents don't see. I don't know how much we'll be going there anymore! But Makee had so much fun. He mostly loved playing at the basketball hoop with Daddy. After McDonald's we took Mak to our new favorite place--Yogurt Stop. They have like 12 different kinds of frozen yogurt to choose from--you could get all of them if you wanted. Then they have every single topping you can think of. You get to help yourself to whatever you want, and then you just weigh your cup and pay for it. It's the best thing ever! Makee loved it.
We sure had a fun time with our little boy on his birthday. We love you, Buddy!

Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake over Labor Day weekend like we always do with my aunt and uncle and cousins. We had so much fun! It was a tad stressful. I'm slowly learning that I need to chill out and let people help out with my kids if they want to. So thanks everyone for your help! I'm really glad we went. It was so nice to get away. And it was just fun to be together with my family and cousins. Makee had a blast! We love Spence and Beckey's cabin. It gets a little more squishy every year as the family grows, but we have such great memories up there. I hope we always continue to go no matter how big the family gets! Happy Birthday Belly!

The Little Woman turned 2 just 8 days before Makee did. Whit and Pete gave her the cutest Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party, and she got a lot of cute Mickey Mouse toys. They had it at my parents' house and made delicious enchiladas. It was such a fun night! Belly was so excited about everyone being there for her birthday and all of her presents. Even though she and Makee sort of hate each other right now (it's kind of a love/hate), I know deep down they love each other and that they will always be close. She is such a sweet little girl, and has the cutest personality. I know she is going to love her little brother so much! I didn't get very good pictures of her at her party, so here are some other cute pictures we have of Belly. Happy 2nd birthday Belly Boo! We love you so much.

Pool Party

Lately Makee and Isabelle fight like cats and dogs. It's kind of sad because it's easier not to get them together, so most of the time we don't. But this day they actually had so much fun playing together in the pool in our backyard. They shared and everything! Makee just loves the water (unless it's a big swimming pool). He could spend hours out there. And don't worry, they spilled a lot of water outside the pool to help those dead spots on our lawn.

Happy Birthday, Makee!

Today is the Mak Daddy's birthday. I can't believe our precious little boy is two years old! It is crazy to think it has been two years since he made his debut into this world at 5 lbs. 3 oz. Every day has been so fun! It has been so entertaining watching Makee grow from a tiny baby into a mischievous little boy. He's been a little fart lately, but I know things have been hard for him since his sisters were born. And I haven't had as much patience with him as I would have liked. But he sure is a lot of fun. Here are some of the things the Doodle is saying and doing right now:

  • "So Soy, I Yuh, you!" That means, "Toy Story, I love you!" He loves this movie. We pretty much watch it at least once (usually twice) a day. He calls Buzz "Budz," Andy "Annie,", and Woody "Woodldl."
  • Makee loves doing whatever Dan or I are doing. He brushes his teeth, puts on deoderant, helps cook, vacuum, do laundry, everything. This means everything we do takes three times as long, but that's okay! We love our little helper.
  • No, we still haven't cut his hair. Dan likes it because he thinks it's the "surfer dude" look. I think it's the "Hoodlum" look.
  • One of the Mak Attack's favorite things to do are try on everyone's shoes--whether they are Daddy's, Mommy's, or even Isabelle's princess high heels.
  • Mak's favorite book is Eric Carle's "Head to Toe." He can do all the animal actions. He is also very good at making animal sounds like "Moo, Baa, Cack (Quack), (Ee-ee--ee-for a monkey)
  • He loooves fruit, just like his Daddy. This means he's still having frequent blow-outs. Ummm, is this normal? I don't think so. We try to counteract with cheese, but it doesn't always work. No matter what he's eating, he eats it about two fistfuls at a time. Dan has been trying to teach him the words, "Portion control!"
  • He still loves balls. Right now he is really liking kicking balls and playing soccer.
  • Makai loves dancing! It is hilarious to watch him. He basically only has one move, which is standing on one foot on the tip of his toes and thumping down flat on the other foot while clapping his hands at the same time. It is so funny! He loves all kinds of music.
  • The Squish also loves being outside. It doesn't matter what he's doing, as long as he is outside. A fork and some dirt can occupy him for hours if we let it.
  • Something not so pleasant that our little boy has picked up on is tantrums. If he doesn't get what he wants, or if someone (like Isabelle) takes something from him, he will often scream! This makes me want to rip my hair out. We've actually been working on this, and he has become much better.
  • Makai is a super dipper, just like me. He will dip his french fries in honey mustard, fry sauce, and back in honey mustard. Then he licks it off and starts over. Yes, I'm a dipper, but not a licker.
  • The Mak continues to love his little sisters. He calls them both "Wy-Wy (for Ry-Ry). But he loves them both to pieces. We have to watch him like a hawk to make sure he doesn't share his treats or his big heavy toys because he just goes and sets them on top of the babies.
  • Makee has become very good at saying "Sorry" (except for he says, "Soshu"). He says sorry if he hurts someone (usually), or if someone is sad, he says sorry. He even says sorry to his toys if he accidentally drops them.
  • Mak has started liking helping to say prayers at night. He repeats whatever we say...if the attention span is long enough for that night
  • Still loving the binkie! But he always leaves it in his crib until bedtime or naptime, so we're making progress.
  • Every morning when Mak wakes up, I hear "Heh-Yo!" (Hello) and "Mama!" over and over again until I go to get him.
  • Recently our little mischief maker has discovered that he loves crayons--and that they work on things other than paper. Luckily, we have discovered the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. That thing's a lifesaver!
  • Makai is finally becoming quite the little talker. Most of the time he comes up to me rambling on and on strings of words, and I have no idea what he is saying. But every day he surprises me with new words he comes up with. He is also getting very good at saying everyone's names in the family. And he can pretty much tell us whatever he wants now. He's also become a little mimicker. He copies everything! If I'm ever yelling for Dan, I hear "Dan!" I have a constant little echo. He's got the cutest little voice!
  • Every day that passes, his little personality comes out more and more. He is so hilarious and too cute for his own britches.Happy birthday, Squish! Thanks for all the hugs and kisses. And thanks for making us laugh every day. Daddy and I couldn't love you more.

Our Growing Girls

These are a few pics I found on our camera from when the girls are about 6 or 7 weeks old. They've chunked up a lot since then! Rylin is in the purple bow, and Bailee is wearing the blue one. We also got some cute pictures with their very sweet big brother. We took them in last Friday for their two month appointment, and Rylin weighed 10 lbs. 4 oz. Bailee weighed 9 lbs. 11 oz! Little chunksters have both about doubled their weights. We are so proud! Bailee was 22 inches long--1/2 longer than Ry-Ry! The Dr. said everything looks great with them, and they seem like they are doing excellent. They are growing so fast! I was putting away some of their little preemie clothes the other day, and I can't believe they used to be that tiny! It made me a little sad that they've grown so fast, but I'm so happy they have done so well. Bailee is in blue in these next few pics, and Rylin is in green.
I do have to say that we have spent way too much time at the Doctor's office AND Primary Children's Medical Center lately. Our little girls have been through the ringer lately! Our primary care doctor told us that Rylin needed to have an ultrasound to have her hips checked since she was breach in the womb. I guess they are finding that people that were breach have major hip problems when they reach their 40's. So, after an ultrasound, they concluded that one of her hips looked shallow. So then we had to go back up to Primary's to see an orthopedic surgeon. But she said we could wait a month and see how she looks then. If her hips still look shallow, she will need to wear a harness around her hips for a few months. So we will be taking her up to Primary's again for another ultrasound and appointment with the doctor. We also have to get Bailee checked out to make sure everything is okay with her although she wasn't breach. Our little Bai-Bai gave us quite a scare the other night! She was up crying all night long with a lot of nasal congestion and a fever of 99.7. I called the doctor the next day to see what I should do. They said to bring her in. By that day, she felt much cooler than she had the night before. But at the doctor's office, her temperature was 100.6. I'm not sure what her temp was the night before, because she was much warmer then. I guess our thermometer was not very accurate. The doctor told us that as young as she was and the fact that she was premature, we needed to take her up to Primary's to be sure it was nothing more serious than a virus. So I picked up Dan on my way up and we took our sweet little Bailee to the hospital. While we were there, they ran a urine test, blood work, and worst of all, a spinal tap to rule out the possibility of meningitis. I could not be in the room when they gave her that big needle in her back. But Dan stayed in there with her. The doctor told us to plan on her being admitted to the hospital. After she had been through everything, Dan was holding his little girl in his arms, and she kept lifting up her head and smiling at him. Oh, it was so sweet! Well, six hours after we initially arrived at the hospital, results concluded that all the tests were negative. And we got a call today to confirm that the cultures were for sure negative. What a blessing! We were so glad that it's just a virus. It's just too bad that she had to go through all that to find out that it was nothing serious. They said that is the only way to rule out anything scary. We were so happy to be taking our precious little girl home that night. But being up there really makes you count your blessings. I feel so blessed to have such healthy children that haven't had to spend their lives in a hospital. Heavenly Father has truly watched over our family because there have been so many times our kids have been sick with things that could be much more serious than they turn out to be. What a week! I'm seriously running on next to no sleep. But I'm just so happy that all my kids are healthy.

And our little girls are so sweet! They are becoming so aware of things. They are really starting to focus on things and people. Bailee smiled at me on Saturday, and Ry smiled at me for the first time on Monday. It just melted my heart! Twins and a two year old are so much work, but those little smiles make everything worth it.
