Park City

This weekend we went to Park City to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. It was so nice to get away! I have to say it was a much different anniversary getaway than we've ever had because we took Mak with us. How romantic! We went to dinner and then went swimming--Makai's most un-favorite activity. We dunked his entire head under the water, and he was not enthused. He never cries in the pool, but he definitely puts on his most serious face. After swimming, Makai fell asleep on our nice king size bed until about 11:00, so we ended up watching 27 Dresses on the broken pull-out sofa. Eventually we were able to swap places with Mak. However, later that night, I ended up back out on broken pull-out with my two boys on the king size bed. Saturday we hit the Tanger Outlets for some mega shopping! They have some awesome stores up there. We had fun shopping. Well, I had fun shopping. Daniel was a good sport to take me shopping. I think the highlight of the trip was our shopping experience at the Outlet mall. We hadn't bothered to buckle Mak in his stroller because we were trying to get him to fall asleep. I had put the blanket over him so he could go to sleep, and I was pushing the stroller back and forth while Daniel was making a purchase. As I was pushing, a lady came up to me and said, "I think your baby is falling out of his stroller." Oh My Gosh! I looked threw off the blanket and looked down. Makai's feet were almost dragging on the floor, and his head was almost to the edge of the stroller. But he was just chillin--totally comfortable, just looking at me and not making a peep! Once I found that he was just fine, I was more embarrassed than anything. I'm sure that lady thought I was the worst mom ever. Despite that experience, we had a blast. Not the romantic getaway we're used to, but definitely the most fun we've had.

How funny that you took Mak with you. It is funny how your world changes once you have a baby. Even if you would have left him, you end up talking about them the whole time. So fun to have a little getaway. Those are the best!!

I have many not so pleasant memories of pushing ashby in the stroller at the park city outlets. i'm sure she fell out once and i know for sure she would grab stuff off racks and i wouldn't notice for a while. what a fun trip though! thanks for the poem. no one was responding and i was beginning to panic. i think it's perfect... thanks!
