Makee's First Birthday Bash

I don't think we could have packed one more thing into the Makee-brations we celebrated all weekend. The festivities ended with Mak's first birthday party. We had a Finding Nemo themed birthday bash for the little guy, and it turned out so fun! I decided that one of the greatest things about celebrating a one-year old's birthday is that they can't tell you what they want, so you get to choose what to eat, what to plan, how to decorate, etc. I think Makee had so much fun. Everyone was so sweet and gave him so many fun presents. It was a perfect night. Thanks so much to all the family that came to support our little birthday boy! We love you all. Makee with his Grandpa, his Aunt Whitters, his Grammy, and his Uncle J

Mak Daddy with his Aunt Rashie, Aunt Heidi and Uncle Lee, his Nani, and his Pappy
The Birthday boy with his Uncle Rob, Aunt Heather, Cousin Beck, Nani, Great-Grandma Thomas, Uncle Chris, Aunt Jenna, and Uncle Lee Mak Doodle with his second cousin Cassi, second cousin Aaron, Cousin Nash and Aunt Heather, and his Cousin Isabelly

Makai with his BaChan (Great Grandma Nak), Great-Aunt Beck, Second Cousin Brit, Great Uncle Spence, and Second Cousins Tara and Kevin
Here is the little cake I made just for Makee. He dug right in! He seriously ate about half of his cake. Here he is with his Second Cousin Nick and his Great Aunt JoAnn.

BaChan, Mak's Great Aunt Sue, Cassi, Aaron, Jared, and Makee.

Here is the Finding Nemo Cake I made. It was my first attempt at fondant. I had a lot of fun making it. What a crazy and wonderful year it has been! We have had a blast with our little man. Happy Birthday, Buddy!

That was such a fun party, it really did seem like Mak knew the day was for him. Your cake was awesome! Too bad the celebrations are over for a whole year, maybe we will have to start celebrating half birthdays so you can have us over for another fun party!

I love your cake! I would love to take a cake decorating class and really learn how to use fondant... I've played around with it, but my attempts are feeble at best. Yours looks wonderful! It was fun to see all of your fun pictures--especially of the Anderson clan. Have I ever told you how much I love Ann and Lani? They are amazing--but you already know that :).

That looks like quite the party, how fun! That cake was awesome! What a great talent to have.
It was fun to see pics of Rob & Heather. My brother Tom is friends with them but I haven't seen them for awhile. Tell them hi for me!

Wow, you have the best pictures from his party. That birthday cake though is the cutest cake. I have never tried to make fondant frosting. You will have to teach me. It looked just like the ocean! Happy Birthday to such a wonderful little guy!!! He is turning into a regular funny little boy.

That cake is soooo cute! You seriously did such a good job. I bet he tasted just as good as it looked. I also agree that it is nice to have the kiddos turn one because then the mom gets to plan what SHE wants. You did a great job!

Happy Birthday Makai! He could not have come to a better family!

Happy Birthday to our favorite one year old boy. You bring so much joy and sunshine to our lives. We love you so much Makee, and we are so glad you were sent to our family. We don't know what we'd do without you. Great job on the party Lyns and Danel. The cake was the best you've ever made.
