Father's Day

We had quite an eventful Father's Day weekend. On Saturday, we finally celebrated Dan's birthday with my family. We also gave the boys their Father's Day presents early. For Dan's birthday, my parents and Jared got him a gift card to Salt Lake Running Co. so he can get himself some sweet running shoes. Whit and Pete went in with my to give him floor mats for our new car. We had fun celebrating with take-out from Cafe Rio and a homemade birthday cake made by Whit. We also played some crazy Tarzan game fatty taught us. It's kind of like the "signs" game, but with animal sounds. It was hilarious! Fatty is always teaching us new games. After the birthday celebrations, we also gave my dad his Father's day gifts...an umbrella for their new porch outside, and some rakes for the yard. Nothing too fun, but they will get good use! My parents gave Dan a Dutch oven, which he is so excited about! On Sunday, we had breakfast at Daniel's parents' house. It was delicious, and the whole family was there (minus Rob)! We decided to take a family picture since Chris and Jenna are moving soon, and we don't know how many more opportunities we will have to get a picture with everyone. The kids gave Doug a Web Cam that he and Lani can use to talk to Chris and Jenna and Drake when they move away. They also gave his truck a much needed deep cleaning! It is so fun to get together with Daniel's family. It is definitely little boy overload! Five grandsons. And soon we'll be adding two girls to the mix.
After we got home from Daniel's parents, me and Makee gave Dan our presents to him. I made him a picture collage and also a mouse pad from Costco with Makee's pictures. They turned out so cute! We also gave him "Forever Strong," the Rugby movie based on true incidences from the Highland Rugby team he used to play on. It was a little hard to do my Father's Day and birthday shopping this year being on bedrest...So thanks to Whit and Jared for doing a bunch of running

for me! The last thing we gave Dan was a tent--but I told him he had to pick it out. He's been dying to take Mak camping, and I think a tent would be a good investment for future family getaways. On Sunday afternoon, we went to my Uncle Mark and Aunt Sue's for dinner. It was fun to get together with everyone, and Makee and Isabelle loved playing on their swingset! Mak had the time of his life.Happy Father's Day to all the men in my life. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, Dad, and Father-in-law. I love you all!
