The last couple disasters I have experienced with Makai have definitely made me question my mothering abilities. These are some memorable Makee moments I will not soon forget. Hopefully I am not the only mom that has experienced the following:

What Kind of Mother am I?
THE CRIB CRASH
Yes, last week Mak fell out of his crib. His crib is not the simple kind where you push on a lever to lower it or put it higher. You have to use a wrench to unscrew everything. It's only a job for Super Dan. I remember Daniel saying just a couple days before it all happened that he needed to lower Mak's crib so he didn't fall out. I told him not to worry about it right now because I thought there was no way he could fall out. The crib went up past his chest! I had just put the Mak Attack down for his afternoon nap. He was very mad because he did not want to go to sleep. I sat downstairs listening to his angry cries until I heard a very loud thud. In a panic, I dashed upstairs and saw my little boy curled up in a little ball face down on the floor. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen! I picked him up and just held him as we both cried. He seemed okay, but I was freaking out a bit. I frantically called Daniel up at work and told him what had happened. He could tell how distressed I was. He said, "Is he moving his arms and legs?" I said yes. It took him some time to convince me that it wasn't my fault, and that I am still a good mom. I felt better after Makee settled down. He was army crawling around after a while and I had my happy little man back. Soon after regaining my confidence as a mother, this happened:THE DIAPER DISASTER
I will preface this story with Whitney telling me about the giant bowl of canteloup she watched Daniel feed Makai last night. After that, My mom, Whit, Belly, Makee and I went to dinner with some friends. Makai downed about a dozen french fries from Chili's. After a pretty pleasant meal, Mak started to grunt and go red in the face. I knew that meant trouble. Soon I could smell it. I knew it wasn't going to be pretty, so I opted not to use the public restrooms to change him. I had to get home for a meeting, so I skipped out a bit early and took Makee home to change him. We went straight to the changing table where I discovered a wet spot leaking through his shorts. I pulled them off and noticed that the inside of his shorts were covered in you know what. So was his onesie. I unbuttoned the onesie, terrified of what I would find underneath. It was a blow-out---an explosion. I was wiping at a furious pace as Makai wiggled and fought me with all his might. As I pulled the onesie off, you know what got all over his hands and head. As I frantically tried to wipe him off the best way I could, Makai picked up a chunk of poop and put it in his mouth--before I could even react! I screamed and scooped my finger in there to get the chunk out his mouth. Well, this did not make him happy. My screaming scared him to death. He screamed as I tried to finish wiping him up. I rushed him to the bathroom and got the bathtub water going. The loud water made him hysterical because he is used to having showers. He was scared to death! I threw him in the tub as he screamed. This is about the time Daniel got home from his meeting. PHEW! He took over while I cleaned up the mess. I had to get to my meeting, so he told me to go. He finished bathing Makee, brushing his poopie little teeth, and settling him down. What a good daddy and husband! Despite last night's disaster, all is forgiven. Makee still seems to love me today. And good news...I was able to wash everything out of his outfit! Good thing, because it was one of my favorites.

oh man lyndsie that poop story is awesome! I mean, probably not in the moment, but the story is great.
All I can say is I've been there!
Oh man, thats so sad that he fell out of his crib. We haven't had that issue yet.... knock on wood.
oh don't feel bad... it happens to everyone. just remember mak is too young to remember anyway! ashby fell off the couch when she was like 2 months old, it's been bad news since then! i do have to say we haven't had any poop issues like that, but i have a feeling they are on the horizon... yikes. you are a wonderful mother and your son will always adore you, no matter what!
I am soooo glad that I have not experienced the poop episode. However I still may. I thought my kids had done it all but I guess not.
Hope you are doing well!
You are a great Mom!!! That poop is HILLARIOUS! (I'm sorry to say that becasue I know you weren't finding the humor during the time.) Kinda like yesterday when Addy was suppose to be sleeping and I went upstairs to see every single baby wipe in her room pushed under the door of her bedroom. Arg!! not funny but now it kind of is!
Cute Makai!!
You are a great mother is what you are! I think that everybody experiences their child falling out of bed, crib, or off of the couch and they seem to survivie okay! As for the poop, that is a different story--just kidding. Keep brushing those teeth of his to get rid of any poop evidence!
Matt is always amazed at how far poop can get from the source. Go figure the Dr. gets grossed out by poop.
Oh the joys of motherhood....Taylin kept jumping out of her crib even when it was lower so we had to put a tent thing over it...So far Finley hasn't jumped... That is the worst part of being a mom is the constant worry...
