I've been Young Womens secretary in our ward for about three years. Recently, our old presidency got released and we got a new o
ne. Now I am second counselor over the Beehives. I love my Beehives! This last weekend, we went to Rough Camp with the Young W
omen. Okay, I wouldn't exactl
y call it "Rough Camp." We stayed in condos up at Jordanelle thanks to Chuck McHenry and the Jensen's. Chuck was so generous to allow us to stay in his condo for free! We had such a blast. We needed a priesthood holder up there the whole time, so Daniel came up on Thursday night with Mak, and they stayed the whole time. I was so glad my boys were able to come up! I would ha
ve missed them so much. It worked out well for everyone. Daniel is such a good sport. Makee got a horrible night's sleep both nights, which resulted in a horrible night's sleep for Dan and I. But Dan was so good. He took care of the Mak Daddy most of the night so I could sleep and be ready for the next day. What a good Dad and husband he is! It was the most relaxing camping I have ever experienced. We spent a ton of time in the pool doing
synchronized swimming routines, water basketball, hand-stand contests, and tons of games and tricks. Dan even showed the girls his famous "Dolphin" coming out of water move, and the girls loved it. The Dolphin is when you submerge yourself under water, pop up out of the water as high as you can, flip back and forth like a dolphin, and make a splash as you fall back in. It is hilarious to watch. We all took turns doing the dolphin so everyone could see how ridiculous everyone else looked. Besides swimming, we did each other's nails, played marbles and Uno, chilled at the condo, went on the Alpine Slide, and even ate at McDonald's once. All of this was well deserved because a few months ago the girls did a huge neighborhood yard sale and earned almost $900 for camp! It was such a great time to get to know the girls better. Everyone had so much fun and got along so well. Our camp theme was "Superheros," so we talked about superheros in our own lives, in the
Book of Mormon, and also about how we can all be superheros if we make good choices and do what is right. It was an awesome camp, and there was such a great spirit there. We had such great testimony meeting after the bishopric came up. We have such amazing girls in our ward. They are so strong and such strong examples to me, and I love all of them so much. They are faced with so much, yet they have such strong faith and spirits. They are all such good girls. They bonded so well while we were there. Makee did pretty well with all the girls up there, and they ate him up. He was definitely ready to come home. The second we walked through the door when we got home, we was grinning from ear to ear and talking up a storm. Poor little guy! He was such a good boy up there. Well, I can't wait until next year's camp--although we will probably be doing real camping--in the great outdoors--without flushing toilets--with tents, bugs, and dirt. Oh, Boy!

What kind of rough camp is that!! Okay growing up in this ward and I have NEVER done that fun stuff. We always had the bugs, no flushing toilets, and tents... I need to be a YW again!
Looks like sooo much fun. I am glad you got to be with Dan and Makai as well.
Yeah Tiffany's right, that doesn't look very rough to me...still, I am glad I wasn't the one up there sleeping with all the bugs. It looks like a lot of fun!
So much fun!!! I've always wanted to go to girls camp as a leader! Just to let you know- we won't be home for two more years! Come visit!
Hee hee! THat's the kind of "rough" camp that everyone can enjoy! Looks like you all had a blast.
