Updates on the Big Mak

Makai is changing all the time. He is nine months old today! I can't believe my little man is already nine months. It is so crazy how fast he is growing. He is currently getting his second tooth. It's the other bottom front tooth. Just this week, he has also started picking his crackers up with his index finger and thumb and leading them to his mouth. He is very proud when he does this. Daniel is very proud also because he has been working hard with him on this skill. Here is a video of the cutest little giggly man in the world.
We gave him his first summer buzz on Monday. Yes, we did away with the toupee. Here is a before and after shot. Both of my boys got haircuts. Dan wanted to look like Makee. This picture was taken in the shower, which is Mak's second least favorite thing (next to the swimming pool).
Makai is so fascinated with the world around him. Dan loves to let him touch the leaves on the trees.

We took him on his first hike on Saturday. The weather in Provo Canyon was beautiful, and we had a great time. Mak wasn't thrilled with the hike. He was a little tired, and the sun kept shining in his eyes, but he eventually fell asleep. Danel has been wanting to go hiking and try out his backpack his siblings gave him when Makai was born. It is awesome! He loves the pack. After our hike, we headed to an Anderson family reunion with Doug's family. It was fun to see everyone. I love this picture Dan took of Makee--his first experience on the Monkey bars!

Just this week, Mak has started to scoot himself around on the floor. I've really got to keep my eye on him. Hopefully he'll start crawling soon. (Should I be hopeful or worried about the day he starts crawling?) The last new thing our little guy is doing is that he has also started giving us kisses. It is so sweet. When we say, "Can I have a kiff? (which of course is "kiss" in baby talk), he opens his mouth and leans in. It is so cute! What a fun little dude.

Makey is getting so big and changing so much. Yesterday he gave Isabelle a "kiff". They were facing eachother and Mak leaned in and kissed her. We told him to do it again and again and he did it three more times after that...what a sweet little guy! "Kiffing Cuvins"

What a cute little guy! Those hiking pictures make me jealous. I think I might have to get my backpack out this weekend. That video of Makai laughing is great. Addy looked at him and got a big smile and said "Baby!" Then of course came a bunch of jibberish that I have no clue what she was saying but I am sure it was about Makai....

I love that video of Makai laughing. What I think is funny is that he keeps putting his pacifier back in his mouth and then he pulls it out when he laughs. He is growing up fast and he looks good with a new haircut. We need our nice weather again for walks.

Okay enjoy the scooting phase it goes by too fast and then they are everywhere! Sienna is trying so hard to crawl and I would love her to wait a few months! What a great baby to go on a hike and then a family reunion all in one day and not be a total wreck! Cute pictures!
