Happy Birthday Beck and Rob!

I've decided to do a new thing. When someone in our family has a birthday I am going to share a few facts about them. We’ve had quite a lot going on lately as summer gets off to a busy start.

Thursday night (June 5), our brother-in law Rob turned the big 30. Heather did a surprise party for him. We were only able to stop by for a little bit, but it was really fun. All his friends were there. Here is a little bit about Rob: He is a sushi chef at the Flying Sumo up in Park City. Daniel and his siblings love going up to Park City for bottomless sushi made by Rob. I wish I could say I like sushi. I know it’s a mental thing, but I just can’t get over it. But he does make awesome sushi (according to the big sushi eaters). Besides making sushi, Rob is a really great cook. He is also an awesome ping pong champion. He is unstoppable, and can’t be beat. Rob is a great guy. He is so generous. He is always giving us things. He tends to get rid of his belongings on an impulse, which is great for us because he is always thinking of the family and what we might want. Rob is a lot of fun and puts everyone at ease. Happy 30th birthday, Rob!
Our nephew Beckham's birthday is really on June 10, but we celebrated today. The B Man is turning 3! We had brunch—Breakfast burritos and Daniel’s grandma’s famous cinnamon rolls—DELICIOUS! Beck was so excited for his birthday. It was so fun to watch him and how excited he was. Heather made a piñata for him and his little friends. They all took turns swinging at it. Little kids are so funny. Some of them were really whacking that thing! Since Rob is a sushi chef, Beck loves sushi. Heather made him an awesome sushi cake with little mini candy sushi. That is the only kind of sushi I will eat! She took Twinkies and mini powdered doughnuts and cut them into little pieces. Then she put Swedish fish on top and wrapped them in fruit roll-ups to look like the seaweed wraps around sushi. They were so
cute! Anyway, it was such a fun day. We gave Beck a bug habitat since he loves discovering the creepy crawlers. Daniel took him out in the yard with his little friends and they explored all sorts of gross things. They had spiders, worms, potato bugs (or rolly pollies as Beckham calls them), and even a fly! Don’t ask me how they caught a fly. Heather was pretty grossed out by the bugs. I don’t think the bug house will be allowed in the “human house.” Some of the other presents that were hits were a harmonica from Chris and Jenna and a mini trampoline from Grandma Thomas. Beck was thrilled with all of his stuff. He is such a cute little guy.

Here are some facts about Beck. He is hilarious. He says the funniest things. He is so smart. He picks up on everything everyone says. Beck loves Makai. He is so cute with him. He always wants to hold him and play with him. Mak loves him too. He will sit and smile at him when they are playing. Beckham is a really sweet little guy. He is so sweet to Mak and also to his brother Nash. Beck just finished playing his first season of swarm ball (AKA soccer for 3 year olds). Heather was the coach. It was so awesome to watch her with these tiny little kids who had no idea what on earth was going on. Beck was hilarious to watch. I loved it. We love Beckham. He is so much fun and adds so much entertainment to our family get-togethers. Happy birthday, buddy!
